This big-budget Bollywood mythological drama would be written by Baahubali fame writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and would be directed by Alaukik Desai. It will be a multilingual film so that a large audience can be targeted.
Kareena has already loved her part in the movie but was taking time to give a final nod. A source close to Bebo has told that “Kareena will shoot for Veere Di Wedding 2 and Hansal Mehta film as they are smaller films. Those movies would be wrapped in a month and then she can start preparing for Sita. Sita will take a longer time to shoot also. And when she is shooting for Sita, she wants to be consumed only by that film as a film of that scale requires that dedication. She also realizes that this will be her biggest magnum opus to date as it’s the retelling of the Ramayana from Sita’s point of view.”
Kareena Kapoor usually charges something between INR 6-8 crores but for this particular role she has asked for a whooping number of 12 crores. That has put the producers in a tizzy. The producers are even considering any younger actress for this part. But Kareena Kapoor Khan remains their first choice and that’s why they are still discussing the project with her.
As an audience, we have never seen Kareena Kapoor Khan in a period drama movie. She was offered Ram-Leela and agreed to do that typical Sanjay Leela Bhansali romantic tragedy movie too but she was married by then and Sanjay wasn’t willing to continue with a married actress.
